Starting in February of 2024 and lasting until May of 2024, the Lovington Fire Department hosted its in-house Fire Academy XII. With a 100% success rate, 6 individuals became certified as Firefighters I and II and Hazmat A & 0. Highlights of the academy have been posted on the Fire department's Facebook page. 

It is with great sadness that we lost a brother of our Fire Department in a fatal accident. To Michael Cranks family and friends our hearts are with you. Involved in the same accident is Zachary Crank, who is in recovery. Keep the Department and these families in your thoughts and prayers at this time. ​
