The Fire Suppression Division is responsible for providing fire suppression, rescue, HAZMAT response (Operations Level), fire prevention education, fire cause and determination, and fire code enforcement to the City of Lovington and a portion of Lea County. Our fire response district, as defined by the Lea County Fire Mutual Aid Agreement, is designated as approximately 484 square miles of Lea County, NM. These services are provided 24/7 by an all paid staff. All of our personnel and apparatus are stationed out of one central fire station. As our area continues to grow economically and population wise, we are constantly planning and training for the future, as we know our roles and responsibilities will increase.
